As a passionate and extraordinarily active conservationist, John Lofgreen has volunteered and spent time in numerous countries. Throughout the Americas and Asia, he has been observing, studying, and depicting wild birds and animals. Presently, he lives in Alaska where he has seen more and more success as an artist.
Typically working in acrylic on gessobord or canvas, John Lofgreen paints all the creatures of the earth. Land animals like elk, bison, and bears appear in his work as well as marine life like sea lions and orcas. Predators and prey from all climates come alive in his stunning paintings. Of course, as someone who has done much work for the Audubon Society, there's no shortage of birds either. Tropical toucans can be seen roosting in the Andes, while hawks, falcons, and eagles appear startlingly real.
